Hong Kong Regiment: Arms and ammunition.
Finance Committee has approved a supplementary provision of $1,481,600 for the purchase of arms and ammunition for the Hong Kong Defence Force in the 1949/50 account.
Indents were placed with the War Office through the Crown Agents and with the R.A.0.C. Singapore on the authority of your telegram No.1138 of 6th November 1948. No provision was made for this
94054/2 expenditure in the 1949/50 estimates because it was

anticipated that 1948 accounts would be settled before 31st March 1949. These accounts were not presented
for payment until the financial year 1949/50.
Your covering approval of this supplementary provision is now requested in accordance with your despatch No.302 of 25th September, 1948.
